What Happened in Turkey on July 15?

Dear Colleagues,
The coup attempt caused to confusion about Turkey’s social and political situation. Therefore, it is required to make a statement about what happened in Turkey, and what the most recent situation is.
A faction of the military, comprising roughly a few thousand soldiers, declared martial law in the country on night of July 15 as they attempted to overthrow the government. Both Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım condemned the coup as an illegal act and ordered security and police forces to restore order. The people had the last say and heeded calls made by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to stop the coup. Millions took to the streets throughout the country and helped police disarm the coup plotters. The attempt by faction of the Turkish military to overthrow the government began at around 10 p.m. local time (19:00GMT) Friday and was thwarted by 8 p.m. Saturday.
The daily life and Turkey’s political situation sustain as usual before the coup attempt. For references and further readings, please check the official sources;

We cordially invite all the colleagues to SmartEnergy2016 in Cappadocia, Turkey where the citizens unite to protect the Democracy.
Best Regards,
Organizing Committee

Dear Colleagues,
The SmartEnergy 2016 is the first of International Conference on Energy and Smart Grid that is aimed to be an annual conference covering the energy and smart grid researches. The conference will be held on October 5-7, 2016, in Cappadocia, Turkey. The purpose of SmartEnergy 2016 is to provide opportunity to share the most recent research outcomes in the areas of power generation, transmission and distribution, power electronics, electrical drives, conventional and renewable energy systems, intelligent monitoring and control issues of microgrids, and smart grids within the transmission and distribution system. It is aimed to create a professional network among researchers, academicians, professionals, engineers, and industry on the focused and related research areas of the entire energy infrastructure. Submission of energy and smart grid research papers presenting the control and applications in fields like system planning, power generation systems, renewable energy plants and sources, communication and control systems in smart grid and computational methods including management and security is strongly encouraged.
All the submissions will be peer reviewed and evaluations will be done focusing on originality, novelty, technical and/or research depth, relevance to conference, and contributions. The selected papers will be published in special issues of SCI Indexed, SCOPUS and ISI Web of Science Indexed Journals.
It is our great pleasure to invite you to join International Conference on Energy and Smart Grid (SmartEnergy 2016) where special sessions, workshops, and tutorial sessions will be held in addition to the main conference.

Best Regards
